Simon Elzen-Hoskyn

Simon Elzen-Hoskyn is a folk singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist. His music is evocative, moving and inspiring, demonstrating remarkable vocal virtuosity, a rare vulnerability and instrumental prowess. He has been recording and performing for over 20 years with 4 albums to his credit. Simon has performed across Canada and in New Zealand, studied jazz guitar at Grant MacEwan in Edmonton, and also enjoyed a brief romp as the lead guitarist in indie-pop group Illfit Outfit. 

Simon’s ambitious songwriting range draws on key influences such as Rufus Wainwright, Bruce Cockburn, Jeff Buckley, and Radiohead. Simon lives in St. Albert and, in between working as a lawyer and coaching his kids’ basketball teams, continues to compose music.  


Jan Randall

Jan Randall is a world-renowned pianist, composer, and recording artist whose extraordinary versatility embraces classical, blues, pop, Latin, and jazz. Over the course of a distinguished career, he has composed and produced award-winning original scores for more than 800 productions in film, television, and live performance. His songs are celebrated for their wit, poignancy, and deeply personal storytelling.

As Music Director for Second City Television, Jan performed alongside comedy icons including Catherine O’Hara, Ron James, Eugene Levy, and Mike Myers. He also served as Music Director for CBC Radio’s award-winning The Irrelevant Show and for the Banff World Media Festival.

Jan’s performance career has included opening for legendary artists such as Ray Charles, Bruce Cockburn, Iron Butterfly, and Fats Domino, as well as sharing the stage with Bo Diddley, Spencer Davis, Sha Na Na, Otis Rush, Sam Lay, and Amos Garrett.

Martha Livingstone

Martha Livingstone is a cornerstone of the St. Albert arts community. Together with her husband, Stan Livingston, she founded and continues to lead Innovation Music and the Visionary Centre for the Performing Arts. Through VCPA, she has inspired and mentored thousands of young people in St. Albert and Edmonton, helping to nurture emerging talent and launch several international careers.

A versatile, multi-genre artist, Martha blends alternative folk with touches of rock and country. Her original songs are both powerful and tender, highlighting her expressive vocal strength and deep emotional sensitivity. In recent years, she has also made a vibrant mark in children’s music, amassing more than three million views on her “Martha Messmaker” YouTube channel.

Barbara is delighted to present Endeavour’s second Singer-Songwriter Nite. Throughout her long and illustrious career as a jazz vocalist, musician, and teacher, she has toured across Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She has lived abroad, recorded seven albums, and proudly guided two wonderful children into adulthood. Alongside her performances, Barbara also leads yoga and music retreats and workshops in beautiful destinations around the world.
